Dance Recital - December 2011

Tonight was Hannah's dance recital. She has been looking forward to this for a long time. I love getting her ready. It's fun to get her hair all done up and put on a little makeup. She thinks she is hot stuff when I let her wear make up. This is her third year taking tap and jazz dance lessons. She is still shy but has come a long way. I love watching her dance!
Not sure why but she insisted on posing like this
Love this picture of her!
These two are great friends. It's fun that they get to dance together. I hope they always remain close.

My cousin, Lina, and I often wonder what they will think of all these picture of them holding hands or hugging. It's pretty cute now but not sure what they will think when they are older.
I didn't get good pictures of them dancing. I had a certain little girl that thought she was helping me take pictures. Good thing my dad was there with his camera. I'll have to get some pictures from him. Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Mestek for coming and supporting Hannah.

Look who's crawling

She is finally mobile! It seems like she figured it out over night. One day she won't crawl and the next she won't sit still. Bailey started crawling the day before Thanksgiving and hasn't stopped since. It's been fun. She is one busy little lady now and doesn't like to be held as much. She would rather be exploring.
She loves her baby and now picks her up and give her "loves". I think it's pretty darn cute!

Hannah is still a great big sister but can be a little overbearing. Bailey is sure to scream at her when she doesn't want Hannah to touch her. She still loves her big sister and will smile and laugh at her often. We think Bailey will give Hannah a run for her money as she gets a little bigger.

Christmas in Bethlehem

Our ward did a Christmas in Bethlehem this year for our ward party. The decree's were sent out and each family was to come in period attire. There were shops in the bazar and plenty of food. I'm not so good at costumes so we improvised and used some sheets and pillow cases. I think they turned out okay. I was surprised to see most people came in costume. We all sat on the floor on blankets and a few select people were able to sit at the Inn. As dinner was winding down, the lights were dimmed and the program began with Mary and Joseph walking around looking for a place to stay. We had a manger scene and read the story of Christ's birth and same some carols. It was a fun night with our neighbors and friends.

A lot of work went into this but I think it was all worth it. It was nice to have a more spiritual party this year. We also gathered some food to give to some families in need. It's great to have our ward family pull together and help out those in need.

I Love to See the Temple

Hannah was in charge of our family night last week. She decided that we should go to the Salt Lake Temple to see the lights. It had to be one of the coldest days this year but we got bundled up and braved the cold. We are very lucky to have such a beautiful temple close by all decorated for the holidays. As we were walking around Hannah counted all the sheep. I think that was her favorite part.
Our cute girls all bundled up

Even though her little nose is red, I think she was warmer than the rest of us. Bailey just hung out in the stroller and looked around. Pretty sure she didn't love all the layers of clothes and blankets but she was a trooper.
In the car on the way home Hannah gave her lesson. She asked us why the temple is so important and told us how our family could be together forever. It was pretty cute. She certainly pays attention and soaks in all that she hears. Even though I was freezing it was nice to spend time together as a family. I always look forward to FHE when Hannah is in charge. She does a great job.

9 Months

Bailey turned 9 months on November 1st. I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. It feels like yesterday that I was sitting in the NICU wishing I could hold her. She is growing up so fast! She has two teeth now and is sitting up like a pro. She doesn't seem to be in any hurry to roll or crawl. She will move around and seems to get herself stuck a lot. Moving backwards is her speciality. One of these days she will take off and we are going to be in trouble. I think she is going to be a mischievous little girl. She keeps a close eye on her big sister. She has turned into a mommy's girl and will cry when I walk out of the room. Good thing she's so cute! At her 9 month Dr. Appointment he said that she is doing good. Nice and healthy. He would like to get her to gain a little weight so we will work on that. It's hard now that she has decided she doesn't really want baby food anymore. He did give me to go ahead to feed her almost anything she wants.

Her stats are:
Weight: 17 lbs (25%)
Height: 28 1/2 inches (75%)
Head: 44 (50%)

She is such a joy and we love having her in our home. I love all the noises she makes and I especially love her little laugh. I do wish she would snuggle more but she's far too busy for that. I have to admit to holding her while she sleeps when I get the chance.

Scott called me today to tell me that Bailey had her first "accident". She fell off our bed this morning. I figured that she might have a little bump but didn't expect to see this when I picked her up. Her little face looks so sad! My camera faded the red a little so this picture doesn't do it justice. Poor girl! Her first of many I'm sure. (Just glad it happened on daddy's watch and not mine.)

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! Hannah had per parade and party at work last Thursday. Scott was able to go to both. She had a great time! They played pin the nose on the jack o lantern and musical chairs. She also got to paint a pumpkin and decorate a cookie. Tonight Jammie and the boys came over to join us for some trick or treating. It was fun to have them with us. We went all over the neighborhood. I was happy to have nice weather. Hannah and the boys ran from house to house and I'm sure they will all sleep good tonight. Bailey was a trooper in the stroller.

After we got home Hannah sorted through her candy and had a few pieces. Bailey decided that she wanted in on that. We let her have a piece of a Kit Kat. I thought she would just suck on it but to my surprise, she managed to eat the whole thing! It's Halloween so I decided to let her enjoy it.

Look at that face. Chocolate was everywhere. All over her face, hands, and cloths. I think she really liked it! I hope she did because she won't be getting any more any time soon.

I would call tonight a success. We all had a great time and it was fun to have Jammie and the boys join us this year.

Gardner Village 2011

Scott and I took the girls to Gardner Village to see all the witches for Family Night. We were sad that the Ride to the Witches wasn't open during the week. We still walked around and took some pictures.

Since we weren't able to ride out to the witches the first time, we went back. This time we went with Grandma Mestek, Aunt Susu, Lina, and Christian. The weather was perfect. This is one of our favorite things to do every year.
I love this kid!

After we seen all the witches the kids went for a pony ride. They both loved it. I remember a few years ago when we couldn't convince Hannah to get any where near the horses. Now she loves it.

This is the only picture we got with all of us in it. Funny story, we all posed with a witch and took a few pictures. When we were done I noticed that Hannah was missing. We found her with a different witch listening to a story. We thought she was in our group photo but she really wasn't. So, we had to round up another witch to pose with us.

Pumpkins 2011

Grandpa Mestek helped Hannah plant her pumpkin seed in his garden. We have been watching them grow all summer and the big day finally came that it was time for her to go out and pick them. They ended up being little cute table pumpkins. We were excited to go out and and find five of them.
Hannah is here posing with her pumpkins (pictures are out of order..)

Hannah and Grandpa are out cutting the pumpkins off the vine. I love that Grandpa was there to help Hannah with this. Hannah has a great bond with Grandpa Mestek and I love to watch them together.
