A "zoo"pendus day

Jackie invited us to go Hogle Zoo with her and Jackson. I loaded up the girls and headed to the zoo. It was a super hot day but we had a good time. This was our first trip to the zoo this year and we were glad to be there with Jackie and Jackson. Hannah was excited to go and see the animals. Bailey was happy to hang out in her stroller.
Bailey and Hannah - Waiting for Jackie and Jackson

Jackie's zoo pass got us all in and we all got to ride on the carousel. Hannah LOVED it and I think the two little ones even enjoyed the ride.

I love this picture of Hannah. Big cheesy smile and all!
Not sure who was more excited, Jackie or Jackson.....

They are building a new exhibit and Hannah found these toys to play on. She was having a good time playing in the dirt while Jackie and I watched the monkeys.
I was happy that we got to see the dinosaurs. They were very cool! I couldn't convince Hannah to get close to any of them so this is the only picture she would take with them. I had to hurry and snap it because she certainly wasn't going to stand there very long. My little Hannah can be a timid girl. She kept asking if they were real.
The babies were little troopers to hang out in the heat. They must have been so warn out from seeing all the animals and riding on the carousel because they both passed out in the strollers. I have to say that I think these kids are pretty darn cute.
A big thanks to Jackie for taking us to the zoo. We all had a great time and we will have to go again.

The Little Mermaid

Scott and Hannah planned a family trip for us to St. George with my parents. We all drove down Friday morning and had a nice drive. Hannah rode part of the way with us and the rest with Grandma and Grandpa Mestek. Both Hannah and Bailey did great in the car. We only had to make one stop to feed Bailey and let everyone get of the car for a few minutes. It was HOT in St. George. After we got settled in at the hotel we all went out for a swim. We even got Grandpa to swim with us. I wished I would have thought to take some pictures but I didn't. Hannah and Bailey both love being in the water. They would stay in forever if we would let them. We all thought it was fun to swim with my mom and dad. Something that we haven't all done together in a long time. After swimming we went to the outlets. Not much there but we did find Hannah some cute school shoes.
The main reason for us going was to go to Tuachan to see The Little Mermaid. We took Bailey to Doug & Jodi's house and then were off to the show. It's a beautiful place to see a play. I love all the red rock. They do an amazing job with their shows. Hannah's face lit up when it all started. Scott and I enjoyed watching her. She kept asking if they were real people. She wanted to know how everything was done. Hannah thinks about everything so she's not one to just sit back and enjoy the show. She said that a few things scared her a little but overall, she loved it. She told us that Scuttle was her favorite, other than Ariel. Poor girl was so tired that I didn't know if she was going to be able to stay awake until the end. She did and was excited to talk all about it so she even stayed awake most of the way back to the hotel. Bailey had a great time with the Yates and they spoiled her rotten. Hannah crashed as soon as she was in the bed. Bailey, on the other hand, decided it was time to play. She sat there and laughing and talking for about 30 minutes. Cute as she is, 1:00 am is time for bed. I left my camera in the diaper bag so these pictures are all that we have from Scott's phone.

Hannah Kay - The Mermaid!

Saturday we spent visiting with friends. We went with my parents to Mike and Lori's house for a quick visit. Bailey loved their dog. She laughed and squealed at him. It was pretty cute!

Daddy and Hannah
Scott, the girls, and I all went to spend some time with the Yates. It's always fun to see them and we were excited to see their new house. Morgan was so cute with Bailey, she sat and played with her and Hannah for a long time. A big thanks to the Yates for watching Bailey while we were at the show and for letting us come visit. We had a great time!

6 Months Old

Sitting like a big girl! - 6 months old
I guess it's better late than never. Bailey turned 6 months on August 1st She is growing so big and changes all the time. We love having her in our family. She has finally learned to sit on her own, such a big girl! She smiles, talks, and laughs all the time now. She is getting a fun little personality. She LOVES her big sister and keeps a close eye on her. I think she is going to give Hannah a run for her money when she can follow her all around.
Here are her stats from her 6 month check up:
Height: 26 Inches (60%)
Weight: 15lbs 14 oz (48%)
Head: 42 cm (48%)
She is pretty average in all areas. Bailey loves to eat her baby food and will eat everything but peas and green beans. Both of them make her gag. The doctor tells me to keep trying and she may eventually eat them but I don't know if she will. She's a little on stubborn side. (kind of like her dad...)
I love this smile!

For those of you who don't know, I have a second family, the Johnson's. I lived with them for a few years and I have been lucky to become part of their family. The end of July they had a family reunion. We were able to hang out and spend a lot of time with everyone. I'll apologize now for the picture over load. Island Park 2011

We took our annual trip up to Island Park with my family. Scott, the girls, and I drove up to Blackfoot and spent the night with Grandpa Layton. We got up and finished our grocery shopping for the cabin and headed off to Island Park. My parents and Tyler met up with us along the way so we could all arrive at the same time. Once we got things put away we sat down for a game of cards. Poor Bailey was so tired!
This was our stunning view each morning. I think dad, Bailey, and I were the only ones to wake up early enough to enjoy the sun coming up. I love the mist on the water and the peaceful sounds of nature in the morning.
Cute Hannah Kay all ready to play (above) and after a busy day (below)
Bailey has started making this funny face when she coos at us. I love it! We were on our way to Yellowstone and she was confused to have me sitting in the seat behind her. Kind of fun to be able to see her while we were in the car. Hannah and I enjoyed a nice ride in the very back of the car together.

Bailey loved being out walking around Yellowstone. The weather was perfect!
Dad, Mom, Hannah, Mike, Bailey, Scott, Norm, David, Ian, Jamie, and Tyler
We stopped at this little picnic area for lunch. Everyone was happy to be out of the car for a few minutes. We got to see several Elk and one lone Buffalo while we were driving through the park. It was a great, peaceful day for all of us.
Hannah, me and Bailey
We walked around West Yellowstone and did a little shopping. Hannah found this cute bear and stopped for a picture.
Dad spent some time cleaning windows at the cabin. He takes this job seriously and will spend a good deal of time cleaning inside and outside windows until you can't see any finger prints on them. Way to go dad!
Saturday we decided to rent a jet ski for the day. Hannah and Scott rode it over from the boat dock. She was so excited! Everyone had a good time going for rides. I'm not sure who had more fun, the kids or the adults.
Hannah and I got in and did some swimming. We couldn't convince the boys to swim much with us but we sure had a good time. Hannah's swimming lessons were so good for her. She did great in the lake!
Dad even got Scott, Ian, David, and I all out for a bike ride. We all rode around the Island and had a great time. Dad had to go a lot slower than he's used to but he was very patient with all of us slow pokes. I think we will be taking our bikes every now from now on. Next year we will have to try going a little further. Grandpa Layton let us use his four wheelers and that was fun for all. Dad even got mom to go for a ride to the gate on one.

We all got up Sunday morning to pack up, clean the cabin and get ready to head home. Another fun and successful trip to the cabin. We missed all of those who weren't able to come this year.
